Father Cesar Anicama was seriously injured in an automobile accident this Sunday morning. He is hospitalized in Columbia and is beginning his recovery.. Please keep Father Anicama in your prayer.
Wednesday, November 1, is All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation. Holy Mass will be celebrated in Milan at 7:00 pm Wednesday. There will be a Communion Service in Unionville at 7:15 am Wednesday.
The Most Reverend W. Shawn McKnight, Bishop of Jefferson City, is asking all parishes and Catholics to join in a global day of prayer and fasting for peace on Tuesday, Oct. 17. All in the Diocese of Jefferson City are asked to participate by fasting, praying for peace and abstaining from eating meat.
Beginning the weekend of October 21-22, all Saint Mary masses in Milan will return to the schedule and format in place prior to Father Dolan’s departure. Mass in Milan will be on Sundays, in English at 8:30 am and Spanish at 11:00 am. There will be no Saturday Mass in Milan after October 14. The Parish School of Religion (PSR) classes continue on Sundays at 9:45 am. Coffee and Doughnuts for adults following the 8:30 am mass will not resume because of lack of gathering space. Sunday services in Unionville remain at 8:30 am.
Anyone Grade 7 or older who has not received the Sacrament of Confirmation SHOULD attend a short organizational meeting immediately following the 11:30am mass on Sunday, September 17 to begin this year’s Confirmation group. If you are not yet confirmed, you NEED to be at this meeting.
The Missouri Highway Department is closing Highway 6 near Novinger on September 11. The extended detour travel time makes it necessary to move the start time of the 11:00 am Mass to 11:30 am during the extent of the closure. This change begins September 17.
Father Dolan offers his sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who participated in the three farewell events last weekend. He especially sends a thank you to those who prepared and served the after-mass receptions.
Saint Mary will gather in the Milan Parish Hall following the 4:00 pm Mass, Saturday, August 26, to celebrate the years of generous service Father Patrick Dolan has given our community. This reception will be a great opportunity to thank Father for all his kindness and service these past few years. Please join us.
This Sunday, July 30th, the Saint Mary Community will gather immediately following the 8:30 am service for the quarterly Fifth Sunday Brunch in the Unionville Parish Hall. Come share in the fellowship and the food. Sausage, biscuits, gravy and fruit are on the menu. Everyone is welcome to join in, regardless of membership in the Saint Mary Community.

Our annual Parish Picnic is this Sunday, June 25, 2:00 pm in the Milan City Park. There will be prizes, games, and summertime food for everyone. Bring your friends and neighbors, Catholic or not, even bring your children. If you can, bring a summertime dish to share, the Parish will provide the meats, drinks and dinnerware. There will be something for everyone to enjoy. You could win an RTIC 32-quart heavy duty cooler that will hold ice for more than a week just for attending. You might also become the Cornhole Champion of Milan or the fastest Pupusa eater in North Missouri. Come join in on this Sunday afternoon's friendship and fun.

Shawn McKnight, Bishop of Jefferson City: I want to briefly address the interest in our neighboring diocese regarding the mortal remains of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster, the foundress of the Benedictine Abbey in Gower, Missouri. Her remains were recently exhumed by the order to be moved to their chapel.
