Bishop McKnight installed 18 men from parishes throughout the diocese as acolytes, an important step in their preparation for becoming permanent deacons. The new acolytes included eight Hispanic men, a first for the Diocese of Jefferson City. Two men from Saint Mary in Milan, Jerónimo Chinchilla and Edwin Pacheco and one man, Chris Korte, from Mary Immaculate in Kirksville, were among those institutes.
